Concluding chapter 13, we learn that for the Beinoni, his level is a truthful level for him. Truth exists at various levels and within each level truth is still truth. But for the Tzaddik, the service of the Beinoni is not considered a truthful service. But that is okay – this is the level of the Tzaddik – and the other is the level of the Beinoni.
In chapter 14, the Alter Rebbe tells us that everybody can become a Beinoni. Though the Beinoni is certainly a very high level to attain in itself, everyone can reach it if they wish to. The Beinoni does not sin in thought, speech or action. His soul garments are under his control. And to this – everyone can reach. However, to reach the level of the Tzaddik is much harder work, because it means the intrinsically, within one’s heart, there is no space for evil at all. But to be a Beinoni does not mean to despise evil – and for this reason, all can attain this very high level (in itself!)
