King David praised God five main times in life related to five world-time periods in his life. When he was in his mother’s womb, when he was born and saw the stars, when he suckled from his mother, when he saw his enemies fall and when he saw the day of death. King David teaches us the importance of valuing all parts of our lives and of seeing God’s endless miracles in everything in creation.
Later we learn that in fact King David praised God through the means of his own soul as it related (relates) to God Himself. The soul shares certain characteristics in the body as God has in the world.
We learn about a famous episode that occurred between King Chizkiyahu and the prophet Yeshayahu. God had wanted them to meet, but each claimed it was the duty of the other to go to the other. God brought it about that Yeshayahu would have to visit King Chizkiyahu.
King Chizkiyahu was told of a terrible prophecy that he would die before his time, because he was not prepared to fulfill the commandment to have children. However, after realising his mistake, he teaches us a valuable life lesson about the importance of knowing how quickly one’s life can change from a situation where a bad decree exists, to turning it into a good decree.
