I have compiled two videos in this post to share with you some of the things that can happen when purchasing a pair of Tefillin. The second video shows how some people may understand the Mitzvah of Mezuzah and once again points to the problems involved in both the purchasing (or preparing one’s own Mezuzah for setting up on the doorpost) as well as what some people understand in terms of what a Mezuzah is – thinking it to be the box…
Let us be clear, as the Sofer in the one video points out, Tefillin can cost you some ₪2500 even for the most basic pair. It is not a small sum. But be warned. It is essential that your Tefillin and Mezuzot are purchased from a reliable Sofer only. If not, it could well be that the pair of Tefillin you may wear – or the Mezuzah you may place on your door, will be completely Pasul – invalid.
Take a look at both these videos, and you’ll understand what I mean, even if you can’t understand the Hebrew! For more information about purchasing your Tefillin or Mezuzot from a reliable Sofer and what goes in to preparing these items for you, contact us for more information.
