We conclude Chapter 18 discussing how the Torah is close to all. In fact, it is very close. The love that we can feel towards God is something that each of us has within ourselves. It is a gift that is given to us from our forefathers, Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov.
Because the forefathers were chariots to God, they were able to bring down our souls into this world with this love already inherent within those souls – namely the Jewish people.
The love really comes from the highest of Sefirot – Chochmah. Inside this Sefirah we can find the faith that even the simplest of Jews has inside themselves. To such a degree, that a Jew is ready to forfeit his life rather than transgress the most serious of transgressions against God. The Jew connects with an inherent connection to that faith which exists above his intellect even.
