When one begins the process of seeing the grossness of the physical world, one begins to realise what the nature of the Sitra Achara (the Other Side) really is. One must then cast the Sitra Achra down to do away with it (as its mission is to conceal Godliness from us.)
If one still finds ridding oneself of the Sitra Achra a difficult thing to do – one must literally shout at the Sitra Achra, insulting it with a variety of unpleasant names so that it realises what its place really is. One needs to make it aware that one is not happy with its desire to conceal the light of Godliness away from us.
Its job is to make us think that God is not present with us – though God is/was/and always will be – in the very place we find ourselves right now. It is only from our side that we cannot see God – because of the gross thickness of the Sitra Achra that conceals the light of God from us.
Through our shouting at the Sitra Achra, we are able to remove it from us so that the light of the Godly soul can finally shine through with all its strength.
In fact, the Sitra Achra is not an independent power with its own source of strength. Its very source of strength comes from the side of Kedusha (holiness) – and we should be aware that is power is not its own. Whatever it does – it can only do through the power it is given through the force of holiness inside it.
We will continue these themes in our next lesson – all being well!
