After concluding Chapter 14, where the Alter Rebbe tells us a secret regarding how a Beinoni can come to serve God just like a Tzaddik, the Alter Rebbe continues on defining the Beinoni for us.
We get to learn a tremendous insight into what / who a Beinoni is. In fact, there are two types of Beinonim. Though the Beinoni (average man) really shares so much in common with the Tzaddik – though inside there is still a deficiency which takes away from his actually being a Tzaddik, there are in fact two different Beinonim.
There is the Beinoni who serves God, and there is the Beinoni who doesn’t serve God. What exactly does it means to serve God or not to serve God? And how did the Torah come up with even teaching us about these two different types of Beinonim?
